It's Thanksgiving week -- which means aside from getting ready for football, and eating a great meal, you're always going to take a few seconds to reflect on what you're thankful for.
Showing gratitude is something we should acknowledge year-round. Think of all the times your parents drove you to practice, or your friends put you in a good mood. There are reasons to be thankful every day. And it turns out, showing gratitude can lead to better mental health, better sleep and lessen anxiety and depression.
When it comes to sports, being grateful can make you a better player. Being able to acknowledge the positives of your team- no matter what.
Here are some easy things you can do daily to show more gratitude in your life:
Make A List - List three to five things daily that you're grateful for. You can write them in a journal, or just think about them in your mind. Doing this, according to research, can make you feel happier and more optimistic.
Indulge In The Little Things - Do one small thoughtful act for a person in your life every day. It can be opening the door for someone, helping your parents clean up or sending a positive text to a person who needs it.
Say Thank You - Maybe you had a great work out, or you learned a new move on court. Take a second to say thank you to everyone who make it possible. From you parents for driving you to practice, your coaches, your teammates and friends, say thank you to everyone who helped make it possible.
